The Journey of Life-1

The other day I chanced upon a beautiful poem by Corey Mohler illustrated on his website. Although it was titled Two Brothers, it could have been easily called The Truth of Human Existence. I found the poem so profound that for a moment, I even contemplated on just sharing it as my post today sans all the commentary or my own thoughts. Without further ado, here it is:

Two sons were born beneath the old tree.

They grew together, both loved and free.

They travelled the fields, they roamed the hill.

They crossed the river, explored the mill.

They fought with dragons and giants tall.

Mighty warriors—they conquered all.

At each day’s end, they slept safe at night.

A loving father tucked them in at night.

The father aged and then he died.

The eldest wept and the youngest cried.

The farm, of course, would be run alone.

So the youngest left, to find his own.

They looked into each other’s eyes.

Beneath the old tree, they said goodbyes.

The eldest tilled fields, beneath the sun.

With his sweat and work, the farm was run.

A wife soon came to his warm, safe home.

He was always loved, but would not roam.

Each day, he dreamt of his brother free.

Always regretting that it was not he.

Years flew by, at last they met again.

Beneath the old tree stood two old men.

He told his brother of farming life:

No adventures — only work and strife.

Oh, how he dreamt of the open road

And how he felt trapped in his abode.

The brother told of the life he led,

Of the long and weary road, he said:

Many lonely nights in driving rain,

It was a single thought that kept me sane.

That my brother was home, safe and warm.

A loving home, far from rain and storm.

Hard work I could stand, but this I swear:

The days alone were too much to bear.

His heart grew sad as he bowed his head,

And to his brother, the elder said:

What a tragic tale then, for us two:

That you had not my place, and I you.

His brother sighed, then smiled wide,

Thought for a moment, before he replied:

You’ve missed the point of this little tale.

For I’ll tell you, brother, without fail:

Whoever would roam, whoever would stay,

We both would regret it, either way.

Climb ‘Till Your Dream Comes True

Climb ‘Til Your Dream Comes True
Often your tasks will be many,
And more than you think you can do.
Often the road will be rugged
And the hills insurmountable, too.
But always remember,
The hills ahead
Are never as steep as they seem,
And with Faith in your heart
Start upward
And climb ’til you reach your dream.
For nothing in life that is worthy
Is ever too hard to achieve
If you have the courage to try it,
And you have the faith to believe.
For faith is a force that is greater
Than knowledge or power or skill,
And many defeats turn to triumph
If you trust in God’s wisdom and will.
For faith is a mover of mountains,
There’s nothing that God cannot do,
So, start out today with faith in your heart,
And climb ’til your dream comes true!

Saying this prayer is a wonderful way to begin or end the day

We all need to create more positive karma, and there are hundreds of ways we can do so throughout our day.

Saying this prayer is a wonderful way to begin or end the day.
We can say it anytime, even parts of it, and the more sincere feeling we have when we say it, the positive karma that is created is even more powerful.

May all beings everywhere

Plagued by sufferings of body and mind,

Obtain an ocean of happiness and joy

By virtue of my merits.
May no living creature suffer,

Commit evil or ever fall ill.

May no one be afraid or belittled,

With a mind weighed down by depression.
May no one ever have depression.

May the naked find clothing

The hungry find food

May the thirsty find water

And delicious drinks.

May the poor find wealth,

Those weak with sorrow find joy;

May the hopeless find hope,

Constant happiness and prosperity.

May there be timely rains

And bountiful harvests;

May all the medicines be effective

And wholesome prayers bear fruit.

May all who are sick and ill

Quickly be freed from their ailments.

Whatever diseases there are in the world,

May they never occur again.

May the frightened cease to be afraid

And those bound be freed;

May the powerless find power

And the people think of benefiting each other.

For as long as space remains,

For as long as sentient beings remain,

Until then may I too remain

To dispel the miseries of the world

In the highest vibration of numbers,

Today

I wish you a day of ordinary miracles.

A fresh pot of coffee.

An unexpected phone call from an old friend.

Green lights on your way to work or shop.

I wish you a day of little things to rejoice in…

The fastest line al the grocery store.

A good sing along song on the radio.

Your keys right where you look.

A rainbow ahead of you.

I wish you a day of happiness,

full of little bits of perfection,

that give you the funny feeling…

that the Lord is smiling on you,

holding you so gently because…

you are someone very special.

=========================

You Are Multi-Dimensional

At one level, the self knows everything and at another level, there is this realization, ‘I don’t know anything, I know very little’. This keeps your consciousness light and innocent. And that light and innocent consciousness or mind is the basis of intuitive ability, the basis of the mystic, ultimate blossoming of the divinity.

The moment you think, ‘I know’, you become very hard. When you feel, ‘I don’t know!’ then you feel more alert because then there is a sense of wanting to know. When you want to know, you are so alert. When you think you know, your mind is away from the knowledge at that moment. When you think you know it, you are getting into some sort of hardness or inertia.

Again this is on one level only. We have multi-layers of consciousness, you are multi-dimensional. That is why on one level, everyone knows that, ‘I am never going to die.’ You all live as though, you will live here forever. Nobody feels, ‘I am going to die one day,’ because one aspect in you is never going to die.

It’s Up To You!

One song can spark a moment,

One flower can wake the dream.

One tree can start a forest,

One bird can herald spring.

One smile begins a friendship,

One handclasp lifts a soul.

One star can guide a ship at sea,

One word can frame the goal.

One vote can change a nation,

One sunbeam lights a room.

One candle wipes out darkness,

One laugh will conquer gloom.

One step must start each journey,

One word must start each prayer.

One hope will raise our spirits,

One touch can show you care.

One voice can speak with wisdom,

One heart can know what’s true.

One life can make the difference,

You see,It’s Up To You!

WOMAN!

The woman does not have to be just beautiful,
Must be caring, sympathetic,
Feminine, charming and sincere.
You must have her beauty in your heart,
Because the beauty of the body,
Weather is stolen, though she creates
They never lose their beauty,
The physical is not enduring,
The heart is maintained,
At the heart true beauty is enclosed.
That beauty is never lost,
Inside, in our hearts,
It really is where the real truth.
The truth that we must maintain,
And we forget that beauty
Only lies to us with an image
Deceives us because obscures,
It can never come to reveal,
The beauty that encloses,
True, he never abandons us.
And though time goes by,
Never change their beauty,
Because the heart never changes,
And that is its great height …
Thank GOD for having the joy of being a woman!
Blessed are all women on earth!

I have learned in life

“I have learned in life to be happy regardless of life circumstances
I have learned in life to be humble in greatness
I have learned in life to respect everyone and not to look down upon others
I have learned in life that time changes; the weak can be strong and the strong can be the weak
I have learned in life that a single day to wake up after a night sleep in good strength is the richest day in life
I have learned in life that words can be a blessing and a curse
I have learned in life to be content but not to be a mediocre
I have learned in life to take my time but be poised to dare
I have learned in life that the river we use is the river that can use us
I have learned in life that the rich are rich because the poor are poor

I have learned in life that regardless of how rich you are, you need free air to live freely

I have learned in life that taking the lead doesn’t mean being the champion
I have learned in life that every one is a prey to someone
I have learned in life that we all do answer the same life questions
I have learned in life that when you skip one life question, you will answer another life question
I have learned in life that the old can be the young and the young can be the old
I have learned in life that what you spend is what someone receives
I have learned in life that problems are there because people have created them
I have learned in life that the seeds we sow are the fruits we eat
I have learned in life that the same things that amuses us are the same things that can annoy us
I have learned in life that today is tomorrow and tomorrow is today
I have learned in life to be simple but complex
I have learned in life that hard work without wisdom is an effort in futility
I have learned in life that the tongues that hail are the tongues that abuse
I have learned in life that prayer and faith can work greatly without great works
I have learned in life that the end is much more important than the beginning
I have learned in life to ponder to wonder”
